*Delighted that Rev. Dr. Anne Henning Byfield was elected BISHOP during yesterday’s elections. Bishop Byfield pastored my home church in Detroit before becoming a Presiding Elder of one of the Indiana Conference (4th District). She is the fourth woman ever elected in our AME Church History. Bishop Henning is also the first (biological) Sister elected with a (biological) Brother who also served as Bishop. Bishop C. Garnett Henning retired from active service in 2012.
**Rev. Dr. Frank Madison Reid is a third generation Bishop in the AME Church. Both his father and grandfather were elected and consecrated Bishops in the AME Church.
