A simple Facebook discussion about the aftermath of the Ferguson Grand Jury decision led me to record a quick conversation with my brother, Attorney Wilson Copeland, co-founding partner of Grier Copeland and Williams Law Firm in my native Detroit, Michigan. This seven minute interview may shed some light on the prospective of the Grand Jury process that led to Prosecutor Robert McCulloch's announcement that the Grand Jury would NOT indict Officer Darren Wilson in the Michael Brown Shooting of August 9, 2014 in Ferguson, Missouri.
Prosecutor McCulloch announced the decision on Monday night November 24, 2014 at 8:00 pm Central Standard Time.
Attorney Wilson Copeland is one of the top lawyers in the state of Michigan and is a graduate of Fisk University and Vanderbilt Law School. He has practiced law in Michigan for more than 40 years. He was also inducted in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers some years ago. He and his wife, Deborah, have been married for more than 40 years and have one daughter, Lauren. Attorney Copeland is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and he is a Guardsman. He is also a lifetime member of St. Paul AME Church and serves on the Trustee Board.
To me...he's my big brother who makes me very proud every day.

He covered a wide berth of information during his presentation on the impact of immigrants in Boston during the November 6th Multicultural Conference. And given President Obama’s latest executive action on our country’s need for immigration reform, Boston will remain an important international destination on the world stage. When it comes to research and expertise of immigration issues, Denzil Mohammed knows it best.
The November 6th Multicultural Conference was a treasured event. Nearly 100 attendees from all walks of life with one goal in mind: Understanding, advancing, managing and appreciating multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion. It was nonstop buzz from the early morning networking session to the close of the luncheon in the afternoon.
One of the distinguished speakers who helped make this 8th conference a triumphant success was Denzil Mohammed of the Immigration Learning Center.

In the United States the sacrifices of so many who often died to guarantee our right to vote should never be taken for granted. Midterm Elections take place on Tuesday November 4th and it is the DUTY of every eligible American to VOTE in the General Elections this Tuesday.
As an African American I am particularly wedded to voting and honor my ancestors by voting in EVERY election in my town. Yes, I am a VOTING FANATIC...and never take it for granted.
You shouldn't either.
If you live in Massachusetts, click on the button below and read the non-partisan summary of all of the ballot questions and review all of the statewide and federal candidates on Tuesday's ballot. This was prepared for Boston voters. Check your local town office for the candidates running in your area or state..
And please download this terrific document "22 Reasons To Vote" published by my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Take two friends to polls with you and make it a voting party! Your country is depending on YOU to VOTE on Tuesday.
